The company announced on Thursday that he's leaving to "pursue an important personal career opportunity."
For those who followed Tiffin's gridiron glory, Leigh was the dependable placekicker for the Crimson Tide from 2006 to 2009, even playing on Nick Saban's very first national championship team in Tuscaloosa. But his connection to the Tiffin legacy runs even deeper; he's the son of legendary kicker Van Tiffin and the grandson of the company's esteemed founder, Bob Tiffin.
Now, here's where things get interesting: The company has been quick to clarify that Leigh's departure was not a termination. In fact, they stated, "He chose to pursue a new opportunity with (National Indoor RV Centers), and we wish him the very best in his new role." This wasn't an easy decision for Leigh, who expressed immense pride in the company's achievements and its growth, especially following its acquisition by THOR Industries in 2020. He believes the future for Tiffin Motorhomes is exceptionally bright and pledges to remain a supporter of the brand.
But here's the part that might raise an eyebrow: While Leigh is moving on, the Tiffin family's influence is far from gone. Bob Tiffin continues to be actively involved, and Van Tiffin remains a crucial senior advisor for manufacturing. CEO Bob Martin emphasized that the brand will continue to thrive thanks to their ongoing guidance, which has been instrumental in defining Tiffin's reputation for quality, innovation, and customer focus.
And this is the part most people miss: Just days before this announcement, on February 5th, Tiffin Motorhomes also revealed plans to lay off 139 employees at its Winfield facility, with these changes set to begin on May 12th as part of a consolidation effort.
