A New Android Auto Update, But With a Catch!
Google has recently released Android Auto 16.0, but it's not all smooth sailing. While updates are usually exciting, this one has a major bug that's causing some users to experience issues with their message replies.
The Android Auto 16.0 update is a bit of a letdown, with no significant changes or new features to get excited about. It's a bit of a mystery why Google decided to bump the version number without any notable improvements. Usually, a full number change indicates something big, but not this time!
We're still waiting for some highly anticipated features like light mode, but they're nowhere to be found. Even a deep dive into the app's code reveals nothing new or exciting.
But here's where it gets controversial...
The current stable version, Android Auto 15.9, has been causing some users grief with a bug that breaks message replies. Since December, Android Auto users have been reporting an error message when trying to reply to notifications. The issue seems to be linked to Google Workspace accounts, affecting those who use G Suite accounts as their primary.
The cause is still unknown, but it appears to be a server-side problem rather than an issue with the app itself. Google has acknowledged the problem, but a fix is yet to be announced.
So, while we eagerly await the next big Android Auto update, it's important to remember that these incremental updates can sometimes bring unexpected challenges.
